For over 45 years, members of The Planetary Society have teamed up to crowdfund science and technology projects that benefit space science and exploration.
The STEP Grant Program — Science and Technology Empowered by the Public — was established in 2022 to continue this tradition by seeking member support to fund promising and innovative projects selected through an open, international, and competitive process.
The first two rounds of STEP grant winners, chosen in 2022 and 2023, have made remarkable advances — from techniques to study near-Earth asteroids, to growing edible plants in space.
The support from people like you has been instrumental in bringing these projects to fruition. And we’re once again inviting the brightest minds worldwide to discover the next breakthroughs in our third round of grants.
